Valentina gave notice at work today. She has a new job in London & will be moving there on Sept 4th. I will give you her own words,, since they are pretty darn good!
"They say, "It ain't over until the fat lady sings."
Well, it seems she's singing loud and proud, because apparently the party's over for me in New York!!!
I know you all won't believe it, but after 5 1/2 years in this grand old city and 5 years at CFR (that's: Council on Foreign Relations...for those of you who still think I work at the UN!), it is (well past) time for me to move on!
I am a little sad and very nervous to leave New York, but also VERY excited about my next steps. What are my next steps, you ask?
LONDON, baby!! Oh yeah!!! Bring on the rain, cockney accents, socks with their sandles, British humor, and the pints of beer I won't touch (because I'm a vodka snob)! I am moving to the island across the channel (or chunnel, if from France). It may rain most of the year, it may not be New York, but you all know you'll be DYING to visit me! ;0)
For the curious ones: I'll be working for Guidepoint Global (a prime research firm, headquartered in NY, so yes, maybe I'll be transferred back here), and will certainly be calling on all of you big-wigs with industry expertise very soon!"
We are all very excited for her...but are going to miss her terribly!!
Below see some of her work related photos.
