I recently helped to organize & attended my High School's 50 Year Reunion. See the before & after photos of me below. April last year, just before my knee replacement surgery, I started to look for old classmates. Well that was a 4 1/2 month endeavor!! I thought that would be my only contribution...dream on!! Then we started to plan the event. Throughout the year there were continuous emails: planning the blog, make plans for the event, continuing to find & contact people & updating the class list . Up to the last minute there were changes: several classmates moved, changed email address, tel # or...sadly died. It was never ending!! The event was Sept in Walnut Creek, CA. It was really fun! One classmate & I checked into the hotel on the Thursday night, staying 3 nights!! There were cocktails Friday night, the dinner & dancing on the Sat followed by a picnic on the Sunday. Then another friend & I went into San Francisco for 2 days, visiting the deYoung Museum & the Legion of Honor. Both were fabulous!!
I was gone an entire month!! First I had 3 days on Long Island to visit Francesco & his family who were in town for a wedding. Then I had 3 1/2 weeks in CA to catch up with old friends & spend time with family. It was wonderful!! I checked a LOT of boxes!! I was also in Seal Beach with an old HS friend. We spent 2 1/2 days in Palm Springs to see the Annenberg House ( Camp David of the West). Even better were the mid-century modern homes built by very famous architects of the period (1950's & 60's). Many were built for movie stars. Palm Springs also has a great art museum. We also visited the Getty Villa in Santa Monica.
