April 2011 - Baby Shower

I am recovering slowly but progressively from my hip replacemnet surgery, Nov 12, 2010.
Rebecca, Lorenzo & I travelled to Alexandria for Katherine's Baby Shower. Her family was also there. The shower was VERY nice & we had a LOT of fun visiting. The two little ones, Gabriella & Lorenzo, are SO cute together!!@@ Here is a photo of Katherine in all her GLORY & one of the adult females at the park.

Rebecca & I got a chance to go into DC. We saw the Cherry Blossoms, a Gauguin Exhibit @ the National Galleries & the Native American Museum. Quite a lot for only a few hours escape. The little ones were @ daycare. Katherine  & Francesco & Gabriella are expecting the new arrival around  May 24th. So far the little girl is breach, as her Big Sister. Might be a bit late for that to change.

GoodBye Kiki

In February I had to say Goodbye to my BELOVED Cat. She was Almost 16 years old & had suffered from skin cancer for 6 years. I am totally devastated & mourn the loss of my DEAR FRIEND. It will be so lonely in the garden this year, as she was such a companion to me while I worked out there. She used to lie on the HUGE boulder at the end of the day, after it had been warmed by the sun. We also lost one of the horses. It was a tough Winter.

AAAHH California in January is a relief!!

In January I was in CA to visit my Family. It was a quick trip so I was only able to catch up with one friend. It was beautiful weather & such a nice time to get away from CT. They must have had at least 5 BIG snowstorms while I was gone. Franco spent a LOT of time shovelling snow!!@@ My sister & I had a great time : visiting my brother & Niece, & her family. in Marin County, on a trip to Napa Valley where we had Spa treatments & EXCELLENT Mexican food!! We also visited my nephew & his family & later made it into San Francisco to see the De Young Museum & had lunch, with Nancy,  @ Chez Panisse in Berkeley...FINALLY I made it to Alice Waters FAMOUS  spot. It was SO fun & the waiter was ADORABLE..wish Valentina had been with us!!
I then flew down to LA to see Lynne & had a few more days of warm weather. Although she lives only a few blocks from the Beach...I didn't manage to see it!! Next time I will have to INSIST!!
